Not only is Miami considered one of the most dog-friendly cities in the country, but there’s so much to do that you and your dog are guaranteed to have a ball. And to make planning your trip a little easier, we’ve put together a comprehensive guide complete with a travel checklist, places to go, and shops to visit.

Essentials for Safe Travel

Before you leave for the airport, make sure that you’ve packed all the essentials. We recommend bringing the following:

Where to Eat

Greenstreet Cafe

For the true Miami experience, you have to visit Greenstreet Cafe. This dog-friendly neighborhood restaurant offers almost anything you can imagine and is located not far from the coast.

Chug’s Diner

Nobody does Cuban food like Chug’s. On top of being dog-friendly, they have breakfast, lunch, and dinner selections that are to die for!

Where to Go

Coconut Grove Dog Park

Coconut Grove Dog Park is a hidden gem that locals can’t get enough of. With plenty of space for your pup to run, tons of agility equipment, and benches to relax on, this dog park is practically paradise!

Hobie Island Beach Park

Hobie Island Beach Park might just be the perfect place to take your pup. Calm, cool waters and lots of beach to run on are just some of the things that make Hobie Island great. Plus, you can let your dog off-leash in certain areas!

Where to Shop

The Dog Bar

Established in 1997, the Dog Bar is a boutique pet shop with plenty of unique offerings and a wide range of high-quality pet products. If your pup needs their Bocce’s fix even on vacation, they’ve got you covered.

Animal Crackers

Located almost in the heart of Miami, Animal Crackers is a local pet store that prides themselves in carrying some of the best products around. They also offer grooming services!
